Nature Park Family Session | Beaverton, OR

This family session with the Dyck family at a nature park in Beaverton was so lovely. We took to the path on a summer afternoon, taking in our stunning surroundings and snapping photos as we went.

When it comes to family sessions, I try and tell parents ahead of time to just let things happen. Kids don’t all want to look at the camera at the same time? That’s just fine. Let them play, run around, and be kids. Sometimes it takes letting them get their energy out for a bit before we get the “perfect” framable, Christmas card photo.

Planning a family session with young kids can be stressful, so setting expectations ahead of time and going with the flow is the best route. I have some tricks up my sleeves to get everyone involved and happy, and if you have any concerns ahead of your upcoming session — let me know and I am happy to talk things through!

(Also side note, Drew is a pretty thoughtful, funny writer — check out his books, podcasts, and more here.)
