California Desert Couple Session

I grew up in the desert of Southern California, in the Imperial Valley. While visiting my family over Christmas, I snuck in a session with my friends Jade and Santi. Growing up, I was always slightly embarrassed about living in the desert, where it is 120 degrees in the summer and the terrain far from what most consider scenic and beautiful. As I got older, I came to the realization that beauty can look like a lot of different things. Beauty is not just green. It doesn’t always look like a lush forest or waterfalls or plentiful wildlife. I wanted to capture the desert in a way that amplified it in its simple, muted beauty. Thankful for my friends for helping me achieve that!
